This Artisan crafted and signed unique Asian inspired piece demonstrates the individual cultural journey that brings forth initial feelings of strife, perseverance and ultimately strength and peace. This piece constructed of welded steel, concrete and repurposed brass is a demonstration of the resilience and fortitude built with the thought of past meets present and the blending of cultural diversity inspired by the journey of Hmong Shaman in America. Hence the blending of the two sides in the piece. The immense size of this piece (over eight feet in height and 32 inch width) and authentic brass gong make it unique and inspirational as the welded steel moves in the wind embracing change; yet holds to its concrete foundation as with culture. Newly crafted and repurposed materials used for this creation: Base is Concrete, Sculpture is painted welded steel and the authentic repurposed gong suspended by steel chains is brass. The entire sculpture is nearly three feet wide and 97 inches tall. The fractured and hammered authentic gong and artisan cast concrete base (constructed with voids to enhance the appearance of age) is an amazing representation of the cultural journey.
